Lenten Series: "Chocolate for Lent: Taking On vs Giving Up"
Sacred Scripture: John 2:13-22
Overview: Power corrupts—whether religions, royalty, nations or corporations. When Jesus turns over the tables of the moneychangers, he acts with righteous anger and courage (and not the passive person that people sometime perceive), in spite of the fact that he knew it would lead to his eventual death.
Human Need: When we face tough times we struggle to understand the meaning behind what is happening.
Community Challenge: In today’s world, it’s hard not to be frustrated with corruption. But this anger can be made righteous. Is there any corruption about which you feel strongly enough to righteously challenge, regardless of the risk?
