About the event
Have you ever found yourself feeling uncomfortable about all the gender talk happening in our world today? Do you have questions and feel unsure where to start your research or how to be respectful? Are you confused by or questioning all the activity in state legislatures? If you've answered yes to any of these questions, the workshop is for you! Pastor JRae will lead us through a brief, high-level overview of how we got here and offer some helpful guidelines for moving forward.
Pastor JRae is a 2016 graduate of Vanderbilt Divinity School where they earned their Master of Divinity degree. They also hold an M.S.E. in Curriculum & Instruction through the University of Kansas. They are currently a Member in Discernment with the Southeast Conference of the United Church of Christ. And they are the LGBTQIA+ Liaison for United Church of Christ National Disaster Ministries. JRae lives with their wife, Sandi, in rural Western Tennessee with their beloved fur babies. They love spending time with family and friends. Their hobbies include photography, painting, and writing. A photo devotional created during the first year of the pandemic is pending publication. JRae has a passion for sharing knowledge. They are currently deeply invested in social justice activism through educational opportunities specifically related to the dismantling of white supremacy/racism, deconstructing the gender binary, and supporting socioeconomic equity to eliminate systemic poverty.
