Have you ever wondered “What makes Good Friday so ‘good?’” Isn’t Easter really the big day? Isn’t Good Friday a bit like Christmas Eve? What happens on Good Friday that’s such a big deal? Those are great questions…
When we celebrate Easter at Holy Trinity, we will celebrate the anniversary of the amazing morning when the women came to the empty grave and heard the angel say “he isn’t here, he is risen – just as he said he would!” We will rejoice that Christ is alive… that his love for us overcame both hate and the grave.
But, in order for us to fully appreciate the empty tomb, we also have to consider the grizzly events that put Jesus in the ground. Good Friday is that time of remembrance. It’s the anniversary of the day when Christ was crucified – a holy day when we grieve the savior’s death.
Will you come and honor Good Friday with us? Our service – a time of contemplation and thanks – will be at 6:30 on March 25th.
