A Recipe of Faith: Bob Lutey's Journey with Isolation and Loneliness

A Little About Bob:

My name is Bob Lutey, and I have been a church partner for about 15 years.

Bob's Trial:

Since retiring and moving to a rural area, I have had to manage isolation and loneliness, and this past year of pandemic has excelled that isolation. It helped driving to HTCC every Sunday, but I can no longer go because of the pandemic.

How Bob is Navigating this Trial: I have spent a great deal of time with devotionals, reading the Bible, and many prayers. I have become dependent on God, and His promises, which has strengthened my faith very much. The nightly Prayer and Devotion Zoom meetings have made a huge difference also, being able to share experiences with my church family for a hour every night has truly been amazing. My anxiety level has gone down also because I have learned to give my problems to God and trust him to resolve them. Sometimes I don’t get answers right away, but I have plenty of time now to await God’s answers. Spending time alone with God each day and sticking to a regular routine, and staying busy helps a great deal.

Giving God the Glory: By reading Gods word daily, daily devotionals and Zoom Prayer meetings has taught me to depend not on myself, but on God. And through his promises I have discovered a Freedom, and a Peace that can be found by spending time alone with God. And I have had a great deal of time to spend time alone with God, so we have grown quite close! I go for a walk every morning, and I use this time to talk with God, give thanks for all he has blessed me with and witness his creation that surrounds me. Now, If I can only get my vaccination!

My HTCC Family:

My HTCC Family means a great deal to me and I miss seeing everyone on Sundays, and praising God together in worship. Virtual Church on Sundays (LINK) and the nightly Zoom gatherings (LINK) have had a huge impact on my faith journey, and I am very thankful to all of those that make it happen every week.

Bob's Take Away: Spend time with God as much as you can, and you will discover the Freedom, Love, Grace, and Peace in His promises leaving your past hurts, struggles, and sorrows behind and walk in Victory every day leaving Defeat in the Past where it belongs.

Bob's Favorite Verses: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5 Be still and know that I am God Psalm 46_10

This the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad! Psalm 118:24
