Day 19: Make Yourself Your Favorite Hot Drink

Scripture Highlight:“wine to cheer our hearts, oil to make our faces shine, and bread to sustain our life.” —Psalm 104:15

Reflection: Sometimes, it’s in the simplest of moments—a warm cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate—that we find peace and gratitude. Taking a moment to savor your favorite hot drink can be a reminder of God’s daily provisions and the warmth of God’s care. It invites us to pause and acknowledge the joy of small comforts, which can ground us in the present and connect us to God’s goodness.

As you hold your warm drink, let it be more than just a beverage; let it become a reminder of the divine presence that nourishes and sustains you each day. Think of this moment as a quiet reflection on God’s provision and as a small act of self-care. In the warmth and aroma of the drink, may you find a sense of peace and a reminder of God’s unending love.

Scripture Study (Optional Extended Reading): Psalm 104 Psalm 104 is a celebration of creation, portraying God’s care for every aspect of the earth. The psalmist marvels at how God’s wisdom fills the world, from the mountains to the seas and everything in between. In verses 10–23, we see a detailed look at how God provides for all creatures, giving water, food, shelter, and sustenance. The psalm highlights how everything in creation depends on God’s provision, and it reminds us of the beauty and abundance present in our world. This psalm calls us to recognize and celebrate the ways in which God sustains all life, encouraging us to live with gratitude for every blessing.

  2. How can you incorporate moments of gratitude for simple pleasures, like a warm drink, into your daily routine?

  3. Are there other simple rituals in your life that you can turn into a moment of connection with God?

Prayer: Loving God, thank You for the simple joys that bring warmth to my life. Help me to pause and savor these moments, and may they remind me of Your constant presence and provision. Let my heart be filled with gratitude, and may I carry this thankfulness into each part of my day. Amen.
