Day 24: Tell Your Loved Ones Why You Love Them

Scripture Highlight:“We love because God first loved us.” —1 John 4:19

Reflection: Love is one of the greatest gifts we receive and give. It has the power to heal, connect, and transform. Expressing love, especially in specific and heartfelt ways, strengthens our relationships and serves as a reflection of the love God has shown us.

1 John 4 reminds us that love originates from God. We are able to love because God first loved us with an unconditional, boundless love. Sharing our love with others becomes a way to embody this divine truth. Telling someone why you love them, naming their unique qualities or the impact they’ve had on your life, can make them feel seen, valued, and cherished.

Today, take time to tell someone in your life why you love them. Be specific—share the qualities you admire or a memory that shows how much they mean to you. By doing so, you reflect the generosity of God's love and build deeper, more meaningful connections.

Scripture Study (Optional Extended Reading): 1 John 4:7-21 This passage is a profound exploration of love as the essence of God and the foundation of our relationships. It calls us to love one another because love comes from God. In verses 7-10, we learn that God’s love was made manifest in Jesus, demonstrating the selfless nature of divine love.

The text also emphasizes that loving others is evidence of God living in us (verses 11-12). Love is not merely a feeling but a transformative action rooted in God’s presence. This passage ends with the powerful reminder that perfect love drives out fear (verse 18) and that loving God must be accompanied by loving others.

As you read, reflect on how God’s love inspires and sustains your ability to love the people in your life.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What specific qualities or actions make you love the people closest to you?

  2. How does God’s love inspire you to express love in your relationships?

  3. How can you continue to show love, even when it feels challenging?

Prayer:God of love, thank You for loving me so deeply and unconditionally. Help me to reflect Your love in my words and actions. May I be bold in expressing my love and appreciation for the people You’ve placed in my life. Let my love bring joy, healing, and connection. Amen.

Call to Action:Today, tell your loved ones why you love them. Be specific in your words—share qualities or memories that show your appreciation. In the comments, tag someone you love and let them know why they’re special to you!
