Scripture Highlight: “I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.” —Ephesians 1:16
Reflection: Sometimes the most profound impact in our lives comes from the simple kindness, wisdom, or support of another person. Often, we are so caught up in the busyness of life that we forget to express gratitude to those who have made a difference. Telling someone they’ve had a positive impact not only lifts them up, but it also helps us cultivate a heart of gratitude.
When the Apostle Paul writes to the Ephesians, he expresses his gratitude for their faith and love. He regularly thanks God for them and remembers them in prayer. Paul doesn’t just acknowledge their importance in his life but actively expresses his thankfulness. We can do the same—taking the time to share with someone how they’ve impacted our journey.
Think about someone who has shaped you—whether through guidance, support, love, or inspiration—and let them know. Whether it’s a family member, friend, mentor, or colleague, your words can affirm them and encourage their ongoing journey. When we share gratitude, we not only bless others, but we also invite God's presence into our relationships, deepening our connection with one another.
Scripture Study (Optional Extended Reading): Ephesians 1:15-23 In this passage, Paul speaks of his gratitude for the Ephesians and prays for their continued growth in faith. He acknowledges the love and faith they show to others, and he prays that they may experience a deeper understanding of God's wisdom and revelation.
Paul’s prayer is a model of how we can offer thanks and encouragement to others. He expresses gratitude for the people who have made a difference in his life and prays that they will continue to grow in the knowledge of God. When we tell others how much they mean to us, we are not only affirming their impact but also inviting God’s blessing on their lives.
