Christmas Is Coming..

Even if you just want to sing the melody along with us, we would love to have you be a part of our choir this Christmas season!

Here are a few of the sacred classics that we will be performing for our Christmas Program:

  • Away in a Manger

  • Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus

  • Hark, the Herald Angels Sing

  • O Come, O Come Emmanuel

  • O Little Town of Bethlehem

  • O Holy Night

  • Silent Night

  • Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne

  • Still Still Still

  • What Child is This?

  • What Sweeter Music Can we Bring?

We are also doing some other new songs that go along with our theme of "Hope & Fears." It is our hope that this program will bring you joy and help us see the beauty in the Christmas story that releases us from our fears and anxiety. Christ was born so that He could be born in us. Let's make room in our hearts for Jesus this fall as we worship together our Saviors birth.

We are also looking for instrumentalists, narrators, & media technicians for this spectacular telling of the nativity.

Access the Christmas Packet with all of the music and tracks here!

How Do I Participate?

With our program being digital & possibly live due to COVID-19 it opens up so many possible ways that YOU can get involved. If you have any other questions please contact Aaron here! Let's start with singing digitally with us! All of the links and resources you will need are in the box above!

Sing in our Digital Choir!

Christmas is the time to spread Holiday Cheer! You can do so by making video recordings of yourself singing your part from your home! We are preparing for our program to be filled with new voices and faces!

STEP ONE: We encourage you to select your voice part, or simply the melody to each of these songs.

STEP TWO: Join us at our next Zoom rehearsal on Sunday afternoons at 1:00pm to get more details about the music and ask any questions you may have.

STEP THREE: Start listening to the practice tracks! Follow along with the Sheet music and rehearsal videos from previous Zoom Rehearsals.

STEP FOUR: Using the Schedule as reference, record your videos close to the due dates, so we can make sure your video submission gets included in the program.

How Do I Record My Videos?

To Record Your Videos, first determine if you would like to record from your home with the required technologies (see below) or schedule times to record at our church.

RECORDING FROM CHURCH:

This is one of the easiest ways for you to be able to record your parts.

Simply "Schedule a time" to record at this link!  Arrive prepared to record your parts and Aaron or another Choir Member will meet you at the church to film your performances. We will provide everything you will need technology-wise to record your voice. (If you have headphones and a smart-device to listen to your recording/practice tracks during the recording, please bring them!)

RECORDING FROM HOME:

You will need a few devices to record your videos at home. You will need one device (phone/computer/tablet) & a pair of "ear-phones" to listen to the practice tracks while you record. (Putting the tracks in your ear allows us to just capture your singing!)

You will also need a separate video/audio recording device to record your voice and face. This could be a video camera, smart phone, tablet, or Computer with a built-in or external camera and microphone.

When recording make sure to check your audio levels before recording a full video to make sure the audio of you voice heard clearly. Please ask for help if you have trouble with getting your voice to be the only thing you hear in the recordings.

Please frame your face in the center third of your camera & have enough space in the shot for your wrists to be cut off at full wingspan. Make sure your lighting is good so we can see your beautiful face clearly and your background is a blank wall.

Regardless of which option you choose, please wear BLACK FORMAL if at all possible and look your best!

Other ways to get involved!

If you would like to be a Narrator for this program please let Aaron know! Also we could use writers to help connect our music to a wonderful message of hope!

We are also looking for people to help in our production on the Media Team during the Live Performance and also in preparation for all of the digital recordings.

If you feel comfortable and if the state of the Pandemic allows us to have a live performance we will also be allowing our choir members to participate in singing the program through using social distancing and personal mics, instead of a traditional huddled choral ensemble. More details to come as we get closer to the performance date (Dec 20th!)
